Sweet!

  • Feb. 19th, 2008 at 4:33 PM

So I'm totally nominated for "best writer" on AOD!

That's way rockin!

Speaking of being a writer... I must get back to work... but I thouht I'd drop in and say if you're reading this, will you totally vote??

Brina's nominated for Best Actress as well, which is way rad.

I voted for Chirs Sabat for overlooked male performance in Solty Rei.  I thought he did an awesome job.

I voted for Chirs Cason for Best actor for Hanai in School Rumble... That was tough, though.  Brandon was also very good.

Brina, of course, for best actress. :)

Director--Talison Jaffe...

Best dub... school rumble. :)

Hmm.... don't remember the rest...

Anywhoozle,

hope all is well!!

Peace!

I'm lame.

  • Feb. 17th, 2008 at 3:41 AM

Who's here?

Sorry I've been so lame about keeping up with this.

Wow.

Ikkicon was a lot of fun. We had "the Hot Seat" panel, which I always have fun with.  Hopefully the Ikkicon kids weren't too thrown off by it!  Chuck Huber was absolutely hilarious and a trouper, I shall say.  I never noticed how adorable he was!

"I have a wife and five kids."  <---- If you were there, you totally know why this is hilarious.

He seriously does, ya'll....

FIVE kids....

Wow.

That's a lot.

He's only like, 11 years older than me.... ;-)

So here's what; Super Awesome Show comes out in AUGUST!  First volume!  It's rad.

I guess I can talk about Shuffle now.

I directed episodes 5-8... aka Volume 2.

Much fun.

OMG someone nominated me for "Writer of the Year" on AOD!  That means so much to me. I absolutely LOVED working on Suzuka and to be recognized as a writer is sooo freakin flattering.  Since writers don't really get much cred these days.

I hope everyone had a fantastic Valentine's Day!

Mine was fabulous!
I'm tragically single so I decided to throw a martini party for friends who were also without dates that evening.   My apartment is romantic in decor anyway, so I felt like it was an awesome setting for V-day.

I served three different types of martinis--Butterscotch, Chocolate peppermint and the Cosmopolitan.
I think my favorite was the butterscotch.

Fantastic.

Volume 6 of Suzuka is out! I have to say those last two scripts were my absolute favorite.

*sigh*

I miss that show.

Caitlin did such a good job with it and she was such a pleasure to work with.  It was great to be surrounded with such talented voices in my ear from time to time. :)

If you've seen it, lemme know what you think.  Good or bad!

Be good!
Get some sleep!

Happy Holidays!

  • Dec. 28th, 2007 at 6:13 PM

Hope everyone had a great holiday season!

I got some cool stuff.  I got a  new Vio laptop, some dish wear, a sushi set (woot!) and a new Pier One bar/martini set.  My dining room is kinda small so I made it into a mini-lounge with a pub table and a sassy wine caddy.  I think "sassy lounge" is the theme for my apartment.  Everything is dark shades of red and cream colors...  LOVES IT.

Anyway, I am sooo exhausted. I keep taking breaks for min-naps and falling DEAD asleep.  I'm so far behind on my writing schedule it's ridiculous.

I'm really excited about Ikkicon in Feb. Looks like the guest list has GROWN like, whoa.  Chuck, Vic and Greg have been added since the last time I checked. I'm sooo gonna ask to do the "Hot Seat" in Austin.  Not sure if anyone went to Izumicon in Oklahoma, but that was the premier of the panel.  It's a late-night event (over 18)  where we put VA's on the panel with a deck of cards.  Someone in the audience raises their hand and draws a card. If it's even numbers, they can ask us ANYTHING they want.  If it's odd numbers, we ask them anything we want.   It was insane the first round which featured Brina, Sabat, Cason and Colleen. I hosted... and I was not entirely sober. Ugh. Never again will I do THAT.  But OMG, if they let me do it i would so put Wendy, Travis, Chuck, Greg and Brina on the stand.

Project X is going swimmingly. I can't wait until I can tell ya'll about it!

How was your holiday??

It's SUNDAY

  • Dec. 16th, 2007 at 5:21 PM

And I have had the most relaxing four hours I've had in a while. It feels amazing. I may actually get to see my parents today! Wooot!

I'm going to try to find out  info on when Project X is to be announced so that I can at least post some dates to look forward to.

There's this awesome "toy" on myspace that lets you put a christmas tree on your page and anyone can leave you "gifts."  The best part is you can select "browse more gifts" and type in whatever you're searching for. You dont' have to use the choices provided. So, a few of my friends have them and I've been leaving "gifts" for them.  I left a book about Coccaine under the tree for a friend from "Lindsay L."  The 'tag" said something like "hey hon, read up on this and get back to me. Like, I promise it's not as bad as they make it seem in the press. Worse thing that will happen is we'll end up in rehab and that's always a blast anway, so like, call me."     Love it.   I have no life. I leave virtual fake gifts for people. Gah. What a dork.  If you wanna leave one, go to my myspace page.  www.myspace.com/leahrooo it's rad.

I should figure out how to post one on here.   Really, they're addicting... or just a strong indicator that i need to stop letting the "Funi farm" own my soul. LOL.

Oh! One thing I can say that's rad is I've been invited to Ikkicon in Austin!  That's going on in Februaray!  It's gonna be awesome! I went to school in Austin, TX  and I miss the town like, whoa.   Also Brina and Travis W are going to be there so it'll be fun to hang out in the city with them. So come one, come all!

Peace!

Thank you!

Thanks for the support!!
It means a lot to me!!

Mustangchan, Nicole-Eliz, Ben,  your comments all made me smile!!

You rock my socks!

So... if you add me as a friend, are we "friends" or do I have to add you too for us to be actual "friends"?  And what exactly happens when we're "Friends?"  What does that mean?  I'm still finding my way around here. :)

Results are in!!!

  • Dec. 11th, 2007 at 9:35 PM

I got it!!

I get to do the show!

Wooooot!!

It's a children's show, but a show none-the-less!
I'll get to do music theater and my soul will be revived!
I feel very blessed because with my Funi schedule, it's realistically the only theater I could actually do.  It's a revival of a show that was put on last year, so all the cast is returning and I'm the only new member.  Therefore, there will only be FIVE days of rehearsal and then we'll perform the show in the mornings (for schools that come to the theater).   That leaves me my entire day to voiceact and other such Fun(i) activities.

Sooo if you're in the DFW area, come see me!

Jan 9-20-something.  Casa Manana.  10:30 am!
Rise and shine! :0)

Sooo stoked!

Omigod, you guys!!

Okay, must return to writing.
I have to turn a full script in TONIGHT and I"m halfway done.

Hope you're all doing well!!

We shall see....

  • Dec. 10th, 2007 at 10:16 PM

yeah...

I thought the audition went well....

But I haven't heard anything yet.

So, if there's nothing tomorrow, then I guess I suck.

le sigh.... I've been away from theater for so long, I feel kinda rusty.
It's really unfortunate because I feel like my talent is stronger there.  it's like when you walk into an old familiar place after a long absence... there's that element of shock, ya know? Not in a bad way, but it still alters your behavior. I feel like I probably didn't do as well as I could have.   I think the song went ok... I'm just so used to acting with a microphone in front of my face that i've forgotten how to project, it seems.   Weird.

Thanks for the well wishes!! :)  *HUGS*

Anywhoozle,  on the positive side: secret project X is coming along very well. I can't wait until I can actually talk about it!  WOOOT!!

So so sleepy.

Is everyone ready for christmas?

Brina gave me my present early since she's so busy.... I got the new Britney Spears CD!! It's AWESOME!! She also gave me Beyonce's "B-Day" CD!  My roommate raves about both, so I was anxious to have my own copy.  Oh, and for an early birthday present, she gave me a gift card to Starbucks!! I'm soooo sooo stoked. I have the bestest friend like, EVER! :)

What do you guys want for Christmas???

We're doing Secret Santa here at work.  I'm really excited about it.  :)
I'll tell you who it is once we reveal it to each other...  :)

Take care, yall!

Audition

  • Dec. 10th, 2007 at 2:53 AM

Sooo...

I feel like it went really well.

I hope so. It would be my only chance to do live music theater.  The rehearsals and performances are during the day and I work at night, so it would work out fantastically.  Most of the time theater rehearsals are at night so this would be quite a blessing.

or would it be a curse? I'm so freakin busy already that I never have time for anything else....

Ugh, but I miss theater. I miss the arts, I miss the passion,  I miss the creativity...

I'll find out in two days...

Ohmigod, you guys!!!

One More For The Awesome!!!

  • Dec. 9th, 2007 at 4:08 PM

I'm on my way to an audtion.

For an actual theater show...
I miss doing theater, like woah.
Especially musicals.

Totally nervous....

Ugh..

I'm singing "Just Around the Riverbend' from Pochahontas..... all my other music is packed and I haven't sang in ages so I need something kinda easy... don't judge. :)

How's your Sunday going?

Are you staying warm?

LC

Greetings!!

  • Dec. 9th, 2007 at 2:01 PM

How's it going?

Caitlin was doing one of these things and it seems to help people get involved in projects that we're working on and such..

So I thought I'd follow suit.

I guess that makes me a copy-cat, huh?

Now here's a question... how do I get people to come here?

Should I just write my name in here hoping somoene will google me?

Or should I try to stay anonymous and let ya'll guess?

I think my username kinda gives it away, though...

Anywhoozle, if you find this...  consider this a fun and slightly shameless plug for an upcoming project that I'm all too stoked about.   You know you love it! :)

I'll try to keep you up to date on as much as I can--within reason, of course.

Meanwhile, Suzuka volumes are still coming out!!
Probably my favorite thing I've ever worked on!!

More later. I gotta finish writing.
Ugh.
